She's here!

We finally got our baby! After 8 weeks of waiting- Dave flew out to Salt Lake to pick up Stella!- only to find out she was way too big to fit in the carry-on case we got to fly her back in. So, Dave ended up renting a car and driving with puppy to Las Vegas- where I met him at Alyse's- and we drove back together. Stella is so sweet- when she's not biting- we both have blood wounds already from her sharp puppy teeth! she has so much personality. She snorts, snores, howls, barks, and loves to snuggle when she's tired. she is so much fun! here are some of the MANY pictures we've taken so far....
Stella is all mouth. She reminds us of Stitch from Lilo and Stitch- big head all mouth-just like her Mommy.
She's SO cute!
Who could resist this face?!
She's really good at biting faces.
She loves to sit on the couch with her Mom.
She loves her pink zebra bed.
The trick is to be tight lipped when kissing Stella- this way her tongue cannot enter your mouth.
With daddy.

Finally Something to Blog About!

Tonight some of my friends and I went to dinner at Liberty View Chinese!

Ashley, Colin, Brenda
Rude.
Redo, much better!
Ashley, Colin, Brenda...
The restaurant had a killer view of New Jersey... at sunset... so romantic! (3 girls + 1 guy = not really romantic... but you catch my drift)

On our walk home we noticed that in honor of the Olympics, the NY Stock Exchange is also flying the Chinese Flag.
Appropriate discovery for the evening... Chinese food then Chinese flag.
Go World!

More Carpinteria Pics!

My entire family minus one nephew, Justin, who's on a mission.

Jon, Me, Mom, Court, Shelby

Realization...

So I came to a sudden realization last night when hanging out with my NY BF Brenda. Here is Brenda and me.

Brenda and I are about 50% complete opposites- I always knew that part... what I realized was we are just like two fictional characters, Marianne and Elinor, from Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility!

Elinor- Sensible and reserved

Marrianne- Romantically inclined and eagerly expressive

AHH!!! It makes perfect sense. I'll give you ONE guess who's who... :)

East Village Opera Company

Last night my friend Meghan and I went to see the East Village Opera Company perform outside at the Lincoln Center... it might have been pouring rain, but we survived! The group was really quite good! They take opera songs and turn them into Rock or Pop versions.

Blustery Day

This afternoon the weather reminds me quite a bit of this cartoon I used to watch when I was little... Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day. There's lots of pouring rain, lots of thunder... I just hope I won't have to resort to floating home on my umbrella!
